Dear Black Woman,
Some time ago, I found myself standing in Washington D.C. along with
999,999 other black men from all around the world. Even though i was
only one in a million, it was truly an unexplainable experience that
literally changed my life. To see all of my brothers (and sisters)
hugging one another, conversating with one another, and exchanging
words of wisdom and knowledge with another brought tears to my eyes.
As i stood there shoulder to shoulder amongst my brethren, I had to
take a minute to ask myself "why am i here?". It was all because of
you, black woman. i realized that i could not have made it thus far
without your trust, your compassion, and your strength. i shall
continue to use the gift of words that God has blessed me with, to
encourage you to be all that you can be and nothing less. i want
you to succeed. i want you to fulfill your dreams and aspirations.
i want you to be respected by others. You are woman. You are black.
You are beautiful. May these words be your pillow tonight and every
night, because you, black woman are destined for greatness. i love you.
