So let's get the tough bit out of the way - how do you feel about 'N SYNC? being signed to Jive Records now?
Kevin: We feel hurt by it, personally. You're treated like part of a family, you have a team to support you, and then you find out that it's all about the money, and that's sad. It's a fact that we've learned in this business, and it bothers us...
Howie: It's something we've tried to get away from, but I guess sometimes it's unavoidable.

Do you sometimes miss the normal life?
Brian: Yeah, sometimes we miss a little bit of normality. It's kinda tough to go to the mall, or the movies, or to just have quiet time and be by yourself. We can still do those things but you just have to prepare a little bit more. Say, if you want to go out to dinner, you have to call ahead and take precautions for safety measures. Sometimes it's nice to be normal, to go to Disney World or somewhere and walk around with nobody caring, or knowing who you are...

Will you ever do anything with Disney?
Kevin: Actually, we'd really like to do a song for one of their film soundtracks.
Nick: It'd be cool to get a ride in the park, like Aerosmith have, it'd be like 'take a ride on the Backstreet Boy...' hee, hee!

Can you ever go out unrecognized?
AJ: When we're seperate we can sometimes escape unnoticed. When we go out as a group that's when we're asking for it, there's no way we can avoid the attention! But when we go out as individuals, people don't seem to notice us as much, which is kind of cool!
Brian: I like to stay away from them, especially AJ! (laughs)
Howie: AJ draws the most attention. People probably recognize him the most!

It's probably because of your sunglasses...
AJ: You know, I was trying to think the other day when my sunglass thing started, and all I can think of is that when we shot our very first video, We Got It Going On, I wore sunglasses and it just became my "trademark". Also, I don't really like the way my eyeslook 'cos I've got these real long, girlie eyelashes. Plus, I'm always tired as well, so they hide that from everybody!

By the way AJ, you look like you've had even more tattoos, how many have you got now?
Nick: Too many!
AJ: I've lost count...
Howie: You have ten AJ, you told us that the other day!
AJ: (starts counting them) Actually it's eleven now! Which is my favorite? I'd say the last one, I got this in Amsterdam, it's a big dragon on my back and it hurt real bad. I was dying!

You've just been to New York, so did you go and see any Broadway shows?
AJ: Me, Kevin, Brian and Howie went to see Rent, which was absolutly phenomenal! We're going back to NY tonight and on our day off I wanna see if I can catch Chicago or the Lion King. They're probably sold out for the next year, but if we can wangle it, I'd love to go...
Brian: Actually, we're thinking about, on the next tour doing kind of like a Broadway Musical type show, that we bring to the nation, instead of you going to it. Something more theatrical, and make it more like a show, rather than just a traditional kind of concert...
Nick: We don't want to give anything away, but we really want to do something different, wtih some acting and stuff...

What do you guys do when you have a day off?
Brian: Well, I love golf, and this morning I actually went to the Ryder Cup and walked around with Tiger Woods. That was so cool... Kevin: But on the whole we like to do normal things, like, go to the movies, play basketball. And I really like to sleep, you know I love that! Nick: Sleep, eat, go to the movies and shop. That suits me!

So, Kev, do you still go horseriding?
Kevin: I try to. My oldest brother Gerald was a big equestrian, and I grew up on a ten acre farm. We had two ponies, called Marbles and Cinnamon and a big horse called Amos!

Do you still get homesick when you're on tour?
Howie: Each of us tries to have somebody from our families out for a week or so at a time, just to bring hom out to us, since we can't get back there as often as we'd like.

What's the most embarrassing thing a fan's done to get your attention?
Brian: I remember we had stowaways on our bus one time! Two girls somehow snuck on one evening, when we were somewhere in Europe. They hid behind one of the bunks at the back and we didn't find them until two or three hours later when we went to bed. Our manager reached down for his bag, and felt a leg! We took them to the nearest shelter, and called their parents. That was back with our old security. We have new security now and they won't let anybody on the bus!

The Larger Than Life video looked fun to film...
AJ: It was really cool! But it involved a lot of green screen effects, so there weren't a lot o fthings for us to play off. Like with Backstreet's Back there were all these seats. The video turned out pretty good though, don't you think?
Howie: I liked Nick and Keivn's rooms best...
Kevin: What, my spaceship?
AJ: Yeah, I wish that'd been me, heh, heh!

Have you got any more spooky vids lined up?
Nick: Not at the moment, but I tell you something...We did a shoot in a big old house in LA the other day, and it was really weird...
Kevin: Nick was playing the ghostbuster!
Nick: Yeah, I was taking pictures, and afterwards, I'm sure I saw something on them...
Brian: I have nightmares about the teeth I wore in the Everybody video. Sometimes I wake up and think that I actually have those teeth!
Kevin: We've also had some really interesting experiences in our hotel rooms. Me and Howie were sharing a room one time, and we had a little visitor - we think! But there are definitely things out there that we don't really know anything about.
Howie: Yeah, it's out there waiting to get us - like some of the fans, heh, heh!
