Dan Leismer~


Although I am a heating, cooling, and plumbing contractor by trade, deep down my heart has always led me to music. I started playing the trumpet in 5th grade in Hammond, Indiana, and throughout all of my musical endeavors, the trumpet has continued to be my instrument of choice.

I also love playing the drums and singing in many different capacities. My tenor voice fit in well with barbershop quartets in high school and I continue to sing in my church choir, for weddings, and for special duet and quartet performances.

I have performed in a local Lakes Area Community Band, but for the past three years devoted my attentions to Brasswind as one of the original members. I play an older sweet-sounding Bach Stradivarius with a Bach 5C mouthpiece. I would say I enjoy the opportunities to improvise and do fun jazz and blues fillers the most.



Personal Info

I am married to a wonderful wife, Dennise, and we have 3 children, ages 12, 10, and 6. We have lived in the area for 16 years, 4 of which have been in Milford where I own and operate Wayne Plumbing and Heating and Gilbert Electric. I am the president of the North Central Indiana Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractor's Association and am the treasurer of Wawasee Community Bible Church.
