IN LOVING MEMORY OF
MY SWEET ANGEL BRENDA

Brenda Bicard McGowan
1/18/71 ~ 4/24/99

Mom can see your smile, and hear your laughter. You will be in my heart always, and please know that I tried to care for you to best of my ability, and I don't know why God chose to take you now, but I know you are in heaven with your grandma and grandpa. It will be a great and glorious day when we are all together again.

Brenda was diabetic and she was on home dialysises, and she died unexpectly from an infection, she was 28 years old.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me,
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now; he set me free.

Courage

Courage is from facing your life,
      And learning from mistakes.
Courage is from decisions you make,
      And living with the results.

Courage is from the friends you have,
      And accepting their faults.
Courage is from giving to others,
      And understanding their needs.

Courage is from doing your best,
      And knowing that you tried.
Courage is from what you do not have,
And wanting others to have more.

Courage is from looking at death,
And knowing it can not stop you.
Courage is from living with grief,
And sharing memories of those you lost.

Courage is from your child in heaven,
And realizing what they taught you.
Courage is from the love they stood for,
And passing it on as they expect you to.

Courage is from accepting Jesus Christ,
      And letting everyone see it.
Courage is from turning away from self,
      And leaving others without needs.
