About SAIL -

SAIL is a Basic Skills/Work Experience Program with a year long
follow-along component. Participants attend Edmonds/Woodway High School five days
per week from the end of June through mid August, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. Students earn minimum wage for the four hours work experience per day.
No vacations are permitted during the summer.

Each year, SAIL serves 45 eligible students ages 14-17 in grades eight through eleven. Case Management services continue to be provided to youth during the school year. Follow-up is provided to any youth exiting the program after the summer. Summer work experience sites are located throughout the cities of Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, and Lynnwood.

Scott Real Estate, Access Mobility, Express Personnel Services, Goldmark Financial, Diversified Financial Advisors, Edmonds Community College, Alderwood Veterinary, Alderwood Animal Care, Work Opportunities, Department of Social and Health Services and the Edmonds School District.

One half high school credit in English/reading and/or math is awarded to eighth grade or above students who successfully complete the classroom and computer instruction. All participants must meet economic or special needs criteria.
