These Neiman Marcus cookies are some of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten!

Neiman-Marcus Cookies -Carrie: from the Idea Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended* oatmeal
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
*Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla
Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda.
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts.
Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies.

No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies: from the Idea Exchange
Ingredients: Directions:
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. peanut butter
3 c. oats
Mix together butter, cocoa, milk, and sugar.
Bring to a boil & boil for 1minute.
Add peanut butter & oats.
Drop onto waxed paper and chill!

THE ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE -Marg/BC: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients: Directions:
3/4 Cup Crisco
1-1/4 firmly packed brown sugar
1 Egg
2 Tbsp Milk
2 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 Cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
3/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Coarsely chopped Pecans or Walnuts*
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Cream crisco and brown sugar in large bowl at medium speed of electic mixer for 2 minutes or until light and creamy.
Add egg, milk and vanilla, beating 1 minute.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
Add to creamed mixture gradually, beating on low speed until blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.
Leave enough space between cookies for spreading.
Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cookies will still appear moist when baked.
*If desired, omit nuts and use an additional 1 Cup of Chocolate Chips.
Makes about 30 cookies

Gingerbread Men -Andi: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. dark molasses
1/2 c. cold water
3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp.salt
Mix sugar, shortening, molasses, and cold water in a large bowl.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Heat oven to 350 degrees;spray the baking sheet with cooking spray.
Shape or cut your cookies/ornaments.
Note:If you want to hang these on your tree, poke a hole in the top of each cookie with a straw before baking. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
Immediately loosen from pan, but do not remove.
Cool 5 minutes.
Remove from pan to wire rack. Let cool completely.
You can eat these, or hang them on your tree as ornaments!


For ornaments: finish cooling, then spray with a light coat of acrylic. Tie with ribbon to hang on the tree. (but out of the little ones' reach)
