Neiman-Marcus $250 Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe -Linda : From the Idea Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
2 cups real butter
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended* oatmeal
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. Salt
1, 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
*Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla;
mix together with flour, oatmeal,
salt, baking powder, and soda.
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts.
Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies.
(Recipe may be halved)

This "NM" recipe was e-mailed to me and I found I like this one much better than the one put on the Nieman Marcus website.-Linda

Lemon Squares -Sandie: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
Crust:
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1/2 cup powered sugar
1/4 t salt
Filling:
4 eggs-slightly beaten
2 cups sugar
2 t grated lemon rind
4 T lemon juice
1 t baking powder
4 T flour
Mix crust ingredients together
Pat into bottom of 9X13 pan
Bake at 350 deg. for 15 min.
In the mean time
Mix together filling ingredients
Pour over baked crust
Bake for 25 min. at 350 deg. till lightly brown.
Sift powdered sugar over top while hot,
cut while still warm!

Homemade Oreos -vic: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
1 package devils food cake
2 eggs
2/3 cup shortening
Beat the eggs slightly.
Add the cake mix and cold shortening.
Mix with hands until it forms a nice firm ball.
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease cookie sheet and
make small balls the size of a cherry.
Bake 8-9 minutes.
They’ll look soft but don’t over cook.
When all are done and cool
make a powdered sugar icing*
and make sandwich of the cookies.

Sometimes when I am being lazy, I used canned frosting
but it does taste much more like the
original with powdered sugar frosting. -vic

Walnut Bars by Marion : A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
2 eggs
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Beat egg and sugar til very smooth
stir in remaining ingredients.
Dough will be stiff.
Spread in a 9x13 pan,
greased but not floured.
Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes.
(less time for chewier ones.)
Dust with powdered sugar.
Cool and cut.
