The Hondrun come from a system of little importance, in the M'shinni sector. The Hondrun’s society is built on honor and pride. This sense of honor that they hold dear may be the species undoing when they inevitably have to deal with the Empire.
Appearance and Biology: Hondrun’s are bipedal reptilians with long think bodies that taper into a strong but agile tail. The Hondrun’s bodies are long and mobile enough to slither through the watery ytran (a rice like crop) fields that grow all over their home planet. The coloring of Hondrun does vary from a dark purple to a striped tan and white. The most common coloring is a light green that blends in perfectly with the ytran plants.
Temperament: Even though the Hondrun are spread out across the planet, they all have practically the same basic culture (naturally the details like musical taste is vastly different). So nearly all Hondruns encountered will have the same deep sense of honor and pride that run through the species. The Hondrun sense of honor that they cling to is vastly similar to what nearly all cultures through out the galaxy consider honorable. The difference is that Hondrun take honor with an almost religious fanaticism. Dishonored Hondrun are expected to take their own life.
History and Culture: The Hondrun most likely evolved from snakes. They developed appendages and intelligence to escape their predators. The Hondrun were also originally carnivores, but as their pray evolved more fatal counter measures the Hondrun turned to eating plants for nutrition making them true omnivores. The recorded history of the Hondrun is riddled with massive wars. The Hondrun have reached a feudal stage in their culture which has lasted for close to millennia. The sword is the principle weapon and in nearly all of the Hondrun cultures only a warrior class and the nobility is allowed to own a sword. Every generation there is a new rebellion against the ruling dynasty, but only one such rebellion has been successful in the history of the Hondrun. The Hondrun peasants have developed an unique fighting style, that turns their dexterous tail into a deadly weapon.
Politics: A king and his noble advisors rule The Hondrun culture. The next class is the nobles. Following that class is the warriors known as Kruhnyi. The next class is the clergy, and finally the peasants. Interestingly enough, slavery has never been practiced on Hondrun but some unlucky peasants would be considered slaves by nearly all other species.
Technology: The Hondrun have a feudal technology. The catapult has just been invented.
Trade and Technology: There is practically no trade with the Hondrun because they really have nothing to offer to the galaxy. They disdain most modern technology viewing it as the works of demons.
