Background: Like many Drake had dreams of being a Jedi. However, his dreams were more personally motivated. He wanted to be a jedi more for the power and prestige as opposde to helping others. The masters on Ossus were wary of his selfish streak, and eventually decided he did not have what it took to become a jedi for none would train him to knight hood. Bitter, angry, and convinced it was a conspiracy against him, the Jedi master Luc Cifer approached Drake and said he would train him. It did not take long for Luc Cifer to pull Drake down into the dark side, who quickly embraced it. In his first confrontation with Jedi, Drake did not fair to well, loosing a hand. He also did not do any better the second time, when he was sliced into by Grandmaster Lance Carleon. Despite all of his weapon training, the Jedi masters were right, he did not have what it took to master the force.
