Background: Shan's parents were pacifist and wanted nothing to do with the war between the Trianii and the corporate sector. They became expatriates at least that was the plan. They were tricked, and stranded on an outer rim planet practically ran by crime. Shan and his family lived in near poverty. To help make ends meet, he worked as an enforcer for a crime lord. Somehow, is father got on the wrong end of the same crime lord, and he sent some thugs to teach him a lesson. This lesson caused the death of everyone in Shan's family save him. Shan was overcome with grief, believing he could have done something about it. He found out that his employer was responsible. In an uncontrolled rage. Shan walked into the main chamber of the crime lord and killed everyone in the room, 15 all together. Shan was then overcome with guilt which just added to the heartache he felt. Shan signed on to a freighter leaving the planet. He now spends his life hiding from his anquish in the stars and trying to do to good to repent for his actions.
