This tutorial is rather lengthy and graphic's intense
but the result's are well worth it.
1. We will use the pic below for this tutorial.
Just right click and choose "save as" to save it to your hard drive.
Then open it up in PSP 6.
Don't close the pic....minimize it for later use.
On the bottom right hand corner you should see this
248 being the width of your picture and 176 being the height.
2. Now click on File/New and use the following setting's.
Note that the width is 176..from the height in the box above.
This new image will be the Background.
3. Now bring up the picture you downloaded and copy it.
4. Then re-select your Background and paste the picture in as a "new selection".
If your not familiar with copying and pasting in PSP 6, Click Here.
Your image should look like this now.
5. Now click on your selection tool.
6. Then open up your control box..if it's not already open.
7. Use the following setting's
8. Now you're ready to select what part of the picture you want the faded edge's around.
Put your arrow inside the pic...around the middle, left click
and drag it until you have the selection you want.
9. Now click on selections/Modify/Feather and use these setting's.
10. Now click on Selections/Invert.
Your image should now look like this.
DO NOT DESELECT ANYTHING.
OK...now you need to make sure the color you want the background to be
is in the bottom box of your color selector.
Don't worry about what the top box color is, you don't need to use that one.
11. After you have your background color selelcted all you need to do
is hit the DELETE key.
Your image should look like this.
That's it.....you're done!
All you need to do is save it and use it. :o)
