~TO ALL DADS~

~What Makes A Dad~

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... DAD.

~DADDY'S HANDS~
sung by Holly Dunn

I remember Daddy's hands folded silently in prayer,
And reaching out to hold me when I had A nightmare.
You could read quite a story in the callouses and lines,
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy's hands how they
held my Mama tight
And patted my back for something I had done right.
There are things that I've forgotten that I loved
about the man,
But I'll always remember the love in Daddy's hands.

(CHORUS)
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was crying,
Daddy's hands were hard as steel when I'd done wrong.
Daddy's hands weren't always gentle but I've
come to understand,
There was always love in Daddy's hands.

I remember Daddy's hands working till they bled,
Sacrificed unselfishly just to keep us all fed.
If I could do things over, I'd live my life again,
And never take for granted the love in Daddy's hands.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF.....
"MY DAD"

I want to dedicate this page to a man
I barely got to know...
MY DADDY.
My dad was a young man when he died.
He was only 36 yrs old.
He died of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident
late one August night in 1957.
My Dad left this world when I was but a girl
of barely 12. I dont have a lot of memories of my
Daddy but some things have seemed to stay with me
through all the years that have followed
since his death.
I can remember roller skating with my Dad
as a child. How he taught me to waltz
on roller skates, skate backwards and do spins.
Oh the falls I took!! I can remember cooking
him dinner at the age of 10 or 11 while my Mom was
working and him praising me for the good job I did.
I can remember when my Grandmother, his Mother,
passed away and all the sorrow
he felt for losing her.
He had always said he would like to live to be 100
to see how things changed in his life but
God had other plans for him.
In the years to come my Dad would have been
so proud of his 2 grandsons, 3 grandaughters and
now his 2 great-grandsons and 3 great-grandaughters.
I'm sure the boys would never have wanted
for anything since he only had 2 daughters,
my younger sister and I, but then again
neither would have his grandaughters.
My Dad may be gone in life but in death his
memory still lingers on in my heart and in my mind.
Daddy if you are watching from somewhere up above...
know that I love you and I miss you very much.
Take care of Mom, Daddy, and someday we will
all be together again as a family
like those days of long ago.
I LOVE YOU DADDY!

A million times I've needed you
A million times I've cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would've died.

In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
That no one can ever fill.

The Golden Gate stood open
GOD saw you needed rest
God's Garden must be beautiful
For HE always picks the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
And He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on Earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
