Zounds had to be one of the most original bands ever, right up there with Crass. They started off on Crass records with a 7""War/Subvert and Can't Cheat Karma" These are 2 of my favorite songs to listen too while driving !! As a matter of fact "Can't Cheat Karma & War/subvert" were number 1 on the alternative charts at one time !! After Zounds broke up, drummer Joseph Portar and various members of the Mob formed another band Blythe Power. Zounds mixed anarcho-punk, a little ska, and a little... sort of what i'd consider New Wave (especially in the song Demystification), in a wonderful way. I own the Curse of the Zounds CD, and my favorite songs off it are:
