So...you wanna know more about me?

I'm 28 years old. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am married and have a 2 year old son. I'm from north-west Indiana originally (about 30 miles east of Chicago) and you couldn't pay me enough to move back there.
I've a very impatient person as well as impulsive. If I want to do it, more than likely I will, and worry about the consequences later. I like to think of myself as adventurous, but you'd never catch me sky-diving or mountain climbing because I'm afraid of heights.
I'm very sensitive...probably too much so. I cry at movies, and that d*mn Folgers coffee commercial where the handsome young man surprises his family at Christmas with a freshly brewed pot of coffee? Gets me everytime.
I have problems trusting people with my emotions. But once you're in, you're in. I have few friends; dozens of aquaintances, most of whom I enjoy spending time with, but few can claim to be my friend. Those who are though know they can count on me for anything. If I have it, can buy it or steal it, you'll have it if you need it.
I've been in love three times. Each time hurt more than the time before. None of them have been the fairy-tale that love is supposed to be. I don't believe in fairy-tales anymore, they simply aren't real. What's real is the pain and broken dreams.
Romance isn't very important to me either. The dozen roses is nice and all, but roses die after a little while. You want to touch my heart? Wash my dishes. Do my grocery shopping. Tell me I have the whole weekend off and every minute is mine to do with as I please and I'll love you forever.
That doesn't mean I don't enjoy pampering and pillowtalk sometimes. Getting a backrub at the end of the day has to be one of the greatest things anyone can have happen to them. Having a warm bubble bath ready and waiting is nice, too. And especially the impromptu weekend getaway will melt my heart.
But don't lie to me. Don't tell me one thing then turn around and do another. If I ask you a question, don't give me half an answer, because eventually the whole truth will come out and I will be really ticked off. If you don't want me to know, then say so. I can respect that.

I'm a tomboy...always have been, always will be. I've played fast-pitch softball (shortstop or third base) since I was eight years old. I preferred Legos over Barbie (although I had an extensive collection of each) and as an adult I would rather spend an evening watching a baseball game than attending the ballet.
Material possessions mean little to me. I like to own nice things, but if I don't I can still get by. And I don't judge a person by the labels they wear. Whether it be Tommy Hilfiger or Route 66, it's the person underneath those labels that I am interested in.
I've been called many names and had many things said about me in my short life. Stuck-up, snob, thinks she's better than everyone...strange, eccentric and off the wall come immediately to mind. I don't think of myself as any of those. I am no better than anyone, but I have respect for myself and others and I will not allow anyone to treat me with anything less. If I come across as seeming to think I'm better than so be it. Because one thing I know for sure; I am better than allowing anyone to walk all over me. That is unacceptable to me, and it will not happen ever again.

That's my story...that's how I see myself.
Any questions?

It's plain to see my tastes in music vary. I came of age in the 1980's and so I love the heavy metal and 'new wave' of that decade. The early 1990's brought to light country again with the rise of Garth Brooks and Wynonna, but I can remember listening to Don Williams sing 'I Believe in You' in the late 1970's, so country has always been a favorite too. Recently I've begun listening to the top 40 hits...lots of Alanis Morrisette and Jewel, and I find myself relating to many of these songs as well. Guess it all depends on my mood.

Music has always been very important to me. I admire songwriters and the recording artists that perform these songs. Many times I haven't been able to vocalize my feelings, but there's usually some song or two that can. And no matter what, if I hear a song that was signifigant to me during a certain time in my life, I'm immediately taken back to that time, experiencing all the thoughts and feelings I had, and sometimes this is a good thing and sometimes it's not. Once again...guess it depends on my mood.
