“Center and State governments should encourage natural farming and plan to restructure the fertilizer industry to make it eco-friendly should also be evolved. A common agricultural policy covering the Southern states and a permanent institution incorporating the governments of various states should be created to irrigate, cultivate and distribute the produce in a planned manner. The southern power grid, water grid and common market forum and agricultural planning authority should also accelerate prosperity to the southern pockets of the country.
2.HUMAN RIGHTS PANEL URGED TO PROTECT ECOLOGICAL RIGHTS (The INDIAN EXPRESS 17.6.1995)
A plea to protect the ecological rights of the people of Pondicherry has been made to the National Human Rights Commission.
In a letter to the Commission Convenor of Dravida Ilaingnar Peravai N.Nandhivarman stated that the government was bound by the Constitution to protect the environment and to have compassion for living creatures under Article 51A(G) of the Constitution.

Dravida Peravai wrote a protest letter against dispatch of highly radio-active nuclear wastes to Japan on January 16 th 1997.
“France unfortunately in its quest for nuclear supremacy continues to deliver periodical mortal blows to the cause of our human race and its peaceful coexistence on planet earth. The utter disregard and contempt shown towards global public opinion, while conducting nuclear tests in South Pacific is still fresh in peoples memory. And now this news strikes like a thunder on all the peace loving peoples , whose seas are becoming the dangerous path to traverse and whose lands are to bear the brunt of nuclear leakage. Pacific Teal owned by a British company called Pacific Nuclear Transport Company which carries this deadliest cargo from the French Port of Cherbourg to its destination Ro Khasho of North Eastern Japan illustrates to humanity the British, French and Japanese power games and the thirst to quench their greed at the cost of their own conscience.
8. Dravida Peravai appeals to UNION MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE TO PHASE OUT CHEMICAL PESTICIDES AS IN WEST.
9. The coastal village of Narambai near Pondicherry was to be totally uprooted to set up an offshore LNG Terminal and 350 fisherfolk who for centuries living there fought against this. Dravida Peravai led the legal as well as people's struggle and stalled the project once for all.
10.The ground water depletion in the coastal belts was causing great alarm. A state owned 100 year old distillery was letting its effluents into the sea upsetting the marine food chain. Dravida Peravai went to Supreme Court along with few environmentalists and forced the relocation of Distillery.
11. To protect the lives of 5000 salt pan workers in whose worksite National Thermal power corporation plans to set up a mega project at Cheyyur, Dravida Peravai led the struggle(Junior Vikatan, Tamil bi-weekly 30.07.99)
