Note: This prayer was given to I. Jones by W. Davis, who passed away on February 18, 1972.

Dear Friend: I would suggest that you read this prayer over at least three times a day. In the morning, at noon and again at night, until you can say it by heart.  ALWAYS CARRY THE PRAYER WITH YOU.

Scripture: Ephesians 6:1-3 (1) Children obey your parents in the LORD: for this is right. (2) Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; (3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Prayer:  Father in Heaven, giver of everything good, have mercy upon my children, bless them and guide them through life, that they might grow to be strong and glorify THY name and serve THEE diligently.

I pray, O GOD, that they will shun evil, temptation and bad company and look to THEE in moments of weakness for guidance and strength.

Give them the strength they need to walk in the path of righteousness, and to be a shining light in their community and in church.

I pray that they will seek knowledge and serve humanity.  I pray that my children will always be kind and considerate of those who are weak and unfortunate -- that they will be strong as they face life's difficulties, and be humble when they come to THEE.

Teach them to know that with THEE all things are possible.  Teach them to know that life is a journey and we must expect trials and disappointments.  Teach them to know that each set-back is a test of their faith to make them stronger and better prepared to face life's obligations.  Teach them to  meet each failure with sufficient strength and courage to get up and try again.

Give me the strength and the wisdom to reach my children to love their neighbors as they do themselves, and I pray that I will never teach my children to hate.

May they always do unto others, as they would have others do unto them, and to serve THEE always.

This I ask in JESUS's Name.  Amen.
