Natalie Portman Biography
1981. She lived there until she was three years old
and moved to Maryland, then at 9 years of age she
moved to Long Island, NY where she still lives today.
Most people do not know this, but Portman is not her
real last name. It is her grandmother's maiden name
and she uses it for privacy. She is 5' 4" and is a
vegetarian. Her Father is a Doctor and her Mother is
an artist
Natalie values school and personal life over
everything. Most actresses in her position would of
just gave up on education now, but not Natalie. Not
only is she very talented and beautiful but she is a
very smart person and got accepted into numerous high-
level universites.
Natalie has a dog named Noodles who is a half-poodle,
half-schnauzer. Natalie enjoys tap, jazz, and ballet
dancing and also enjoys reading and ice skating (which
she took a liking for during the filming of Beautiful
Girls). She was discovered by a modeling agent in a
pizza parlor who wanted her to (surprise, surprise)
model. She didn't want to do that though, and was more
interested in acting. So the agent got her a few
auditions and the rest speaks for itself!
Her first major film was The Professional (aka Leon).
She played Mathilda, a girl who's family had been
killed by a bunch of bad cops and she then looks
toward her new neighbor, a hitman, to protect her.
That was an excellent movie showcasing Natalie's
natural talents, but her real break came in 1996 with
the movie Beautiful Girls. She played the role of
Marty. She did an incredible job at acting in this
movie. Although her role was not one of the "major"
ones, most people will agree with me when I say that
she simply stole the show. She also recently performed
on Broadway as the role of Ann Frank. And who could
forget Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace where
she played the role of Queen Amidala. George Lucas
thought she was so good for the job that he postponed
some filming to wait for her to complete her work on
Broadway.. and boy was she ever good! Natalie has
signed on to be in the next two Star Wars prequels
(Episode 2 and 3). Finally, she is starring in the
upcoming movie Anywhere but Here with Susan Sarandon.
With the huge success of Star Wars Episode 1, Natalie
is finally getting noticed and now almost everyone
knows how good of an actress she really is. Natalie
just finished High School and will be attending a
college in the fall. Currently She has a new project
planned for the summer called Where the Heart Is . She
plays the role of a young women who gets pregnant with
her boyfriend and then gets dropped off at a local Wal-
Mart. Pretty sketchy details, but with Natalie
starring there is no doubt the movie will be excellent
