BAND INFO: Leather Strip is a one-man band consisting of the popular industrialist Claus Larsen, who operates in Denmark under the European Zoth Ommog label. A side project of Larsen's is Klute, which is supposed to be a more personal and harsher form of Leather Strip. Leather Strip is considered to be a front-runner of the EBM scene. A little-known fact about Larsen is that he does all the artwork for his CD covers and booklets.
Fit for Flogging - OVERVIEW: "A
must have for the EBM fan in you!" That's just what I
would say if I were promoting this CD. Analog synths,
complex beats, a few electronics, and a WHOLE lot of
samples make up this CD's music. At the first listen
it sounds very simplistic and kind of repetative with
way too many samples. However, if you give it a few
rounds, you start to hear background noises and imagined
beats. You almost get dragged into it. Then, unfortunately,
the vocals come in. The vocals are way too distorted
and often off-key. However, the music makes up for
this once and a while. (Note: there are two different
covers for this CD, but each CD contains the same music
with no added tracks.)
