BAND INFO: Sister Machine Gun is a two-man band that is on the famous industrial label, Wax Trax! Records. Chris Randall (the vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and programmer for the band) started his music career working in Wax Trax! Record's mail room. He was also a roadie for KMFDM. After showing off a demo to KMFDM he was allowed to open for KMFDM and play some live shows. This got Sister Machine Gun off the ground and into the industrial music scene.
Metropolis - OVERVIEW: I don't know whether to call it metal/industrial or melodic rock/ industrial. It's probably more of the latter because these aren't hardcore metal guitars, but they're not pansy kind of guitars either. And that's not all to the music, there is a ton of symphotic sounds on this CD: piano, strings, cellos, violins, and saxaphones. The vocals on this CD are very fresh and melodic. Not the usual distortion or screaming. There is a lot of variety in this CD; some songs are kind of jazzy, some songs are jam-packed with emotion, and some are just plain industrial. It's not too bad of a CD, but there are no standout songs. Sure, there's a lot of variance, but no song is better or worse than the other. They are all on the same level.
