'N SYNC TALKING ABOUT THE BACKSTREET BOYS Ladies, if you don't have any vacation plans, yet, then Orlando is the place to be! Because it aren't only the Backstreet Boys who are living there, the guys from 'N SYNC are living there, too! What Justin, Lance, JC, Joey and Chris think about them, you can read next. Are you the new Backstreet Boys? Chris: 'We're just 'N SYNC. We can both be there. Both groups are doing great now. Especially in Holland! But we are smart enough to stay realistic and do not expect that after the succes of 'I Want You Back' it will be like this forever. It can all be over soon.' You do look a lot like the BSB... Lance: 'OK, we are with 5 guys, too, we are also from Orlando, we have the same manager and we make the same kind of music, but there where the resemblance ends.' Well... you are also looking as good as they do! Lance: 'I forgot that one... But really, that's where all the resemblance ends. We are not put together by a producer like the BSB. We aren't an instant boygroup. We are five friends who got into this business. We did it ourselves. So you don't like the BSB? Joey: 'You probably won't believe it, but we don't see Howie, Brian, AJ, Kevin and Nick as our competition. We are really good friends now. We ran into eachother a lot. Sometimes we see them in Orlando, at our manager, during TV shows, in hotels or in an airplane. We always have lots of fun then.' Do you ever go out together? Justin: 'We used to, but now all 10 of us are very busy and we're always on the road, so we don't really get the chance to go out in Orlando. But if we are in Orlando, we meet and go out for a drink or go dancing in a club or something.' Is that possible in Orlando? Don't you have lots of girls coming to you? Chris: 'Not in Orlando. In America we aren't that famous yet. The BSB are starting to get popular over here right now, but they don't even reconize us here. We sometimes have to get used to that if we come back from Germany.' Have the BSB warned you for the hysteria? Joey: 'In the beginning we did talked about that. They had more experience and knew everything about the hysteria, always being on the roada nd the pressure. But when we ran into eachother now, we don't talk about it, 'cause we want to be free sometimes, too!' Where are you talking about then? Lance: 'Well, where do we talk about? Ectually we talk about normal things. Just normal things all boys are talking about. Like girls, cars, music, girls...' Your new single 'Tearin' Up My Heart' had to be out by now. What caused the delay? Justin: 'I Want You Back' is still in the charts here, so we have to wait till that one doesn't sell anymore. So be patient!' And the album? Lance: 'We are working on that one now. Our debut album has to be perfect. It takes longer than we first planned, but if should be out someday soon. When will you be back in Holland? As soon as possible. We love performing in Holland. We'll probably go to the Radio 358 Dance Smash Party. Are all the boys in Orlando as good-looking as you guys ? Justin: 'Thanks for the compliment, but it isn't Orlando. Do I need to prove that? Look at Lance! He's not ugly and he doesn't come from Orlando. He's born and brought up in Laurel, Mississippi.'
