Jim Boyd
On January
24, 2003, we had the pleasure of meeting Jim Boyd, a Nammy award winner,
singer and composer, who co-wrote with Sherman Alexie the songs for the
movie Smoke Signals. Jim gave a concert at Andy West's Taco's bar in
Lausanne. Jim Boyd is a member of the Lakes band on the Colville Indian Reservation in Washington State. One of six children (three boys and three girls), Jim and his family moved on and off the reservation as they at times followed their father around the country, courtesy of the Air Force. Boyd's interest in music developed at a very early age, and continued to expand as he was introduced to various instruments such as trumpet, drums, guitar, bass guitar, flute, and keyboards. |

Before his performance at the Taco's, Jim met with "local" artist and entertainer SkyHawk., to whom he dedicated his song Father and farther.
