Kali'nas
The Kali'nas are one of the six nations living in
the french territory of Guyana better known for the ancient penal colony
Cayenne. As for all native american people, the arrival of the Europeans was
fatal to their culture. Today there are about 20.00 Kali'nas living in 3
villages. Their original language is the Karib but the french creole dialect of
the Giyana is being spoken everywhere. The Kali'nas main food source is manioc,
hunting and fishing.
