Shuars
under construction
The Shuars used to be called Jivaros. They are
the legendary "head shrinkers" who have never let the white man take over their
life. They chose to enter the modern age without giving up any of their language
or their culture. In 1964, a Federation of the Shuar communities was founded to
help them take their future into their own hands. First independent
organisation of this kind in Latin America, it served as the stepping stone to
the indigenous equatorian movement that became well prominent in the years 90.

If an eagle crosses the sky at the moment you express a
thought, it is to announce you that it is coming about. Also, think to thank
him. |
