It had been about a month and a half since Kristy was first left by Piccolo in this strange place. Kristy had gotten along so far but she grew tired of being trapped in the middle of no where. She missed the company of her friends and the easiness of civilization.
"I can't take this anymore!" she screamed out to no one in particular.
She hadn't talked to anyone for weeks. She hadn't seen a person in weeks. Heck, she hadn't seen anything in weeks. All she's been seeing is nature. Nature, nature, nature! Ugh! It was making her sick. She was going to get out of here.... right now.
Chichi bent over to pick up the mail on the floor. She scanned each one of them. Bills, bills, junk mail, bill. She came upon a white piece of paper. It was an advertisement for the next Tentakachi Bodokai. She read it. The next tournament would be in a matter of months. She heard footsteps behind her.
"Hey Mom! What's that?" her son, Goten, asked attempting to look around her at the paper she was holding.
"Just junk mail," she partly lied. Goku suddenly appeared looking over her other shoulder. He couldn't read very well but he saw the picture and automatically knew what it was.
"Another tournament!" he yelled enthusiastically.
Chichi let out an exhausted sigh. She had tried to hide it but failed miserably.
"Yes!" Goten yelled excitedly. He calmed down a bit.
"Hey, do you think Kristy will be there?"
Goku smiled. "Probably."
Chichi stomped off into the bedroom. She was mumbling something to herself like; "When I get my hands on that Piccolo I'm going to-"
The two couldn't hear her anymore since she was in the other room. Good thing Piccolo could take care of himself. If he were the average person, Chichi would most likely have him in the hospital. She was certainly in the mood to do such things.
Goten secretly smiled to himself. Soon he would see Kristy again.
Pan looked up at him. She was at their house for a visit.
"What are you smiling about?" she asked suspiciously.
Goten went back to an unreadable face. "What face?"
Pan smirked. "You know what I'm talking about."
"What?" Goten asked like he didn't know.
"What exactly are you planning?"
"Oh nothing, nothing at all," he said turning around and walking to the kitchen.
Kristy finished packing some food and water in a bag she made. She put the strap across her chest. She then began her journey walking south.
She wasn't too sure on how to find her friends but she figured she would ask for some directions once she reached civilization. She was sure on one thing she wasn't going to do though. Wait here and do nothing.
Vegeta kicked and punched at the air in the gravity room. The gravity level was at 300. The gravity didn't hold Vegeta down too much because he was used to the high gravity level now. As Vegeta did a punch forward, Goku teleported next to him.
"Hello Vegeta!"
"Kakkarot! What did I tell you about disturbing me during my training?" Vegeta turned to him angrily.
"I'm not disturbing you. I just came here to tell you something," Goku replied innocently.
"Then what is it?" Vegeta barked.
"The Tentakachi Bodokai will be held in a few months!" he said cheerfully.
"Hmph. Everyone knows I can beat you."
"I'd like to see you try," Goku shot back.
Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "See you there."
Goku smirked evilly. "I'll count on it."
Goku then crossed his arms and teleported someplace else.
Vegeta turned around and walked over to get a towel. He stopped.
"What just happened?"
Kristy walked up another sandy hill in the desert. She reached the top and looked ahead. There was nothing but hills of sand. She continued to trudge along taking heavy steps. It was incredibly hot. She had run out of water and food awhile back. This was not good for it looked like the desert stretched on forever.
She breathed quick small breaths as she forced every step she took. She then fell to her knees, then flat on her face. She couldn't go any further. She tried to get up but the farthest she got was pushing up with her arms with a hanging head, on all fours. Sweat beads came from her forehead and ran down her nose, dripping onto the hot ground. She then couldn't even sit up and fell to the ground hitting the burning sand. Her eyes slid shut and fainted from heat.
Piccolo flew over the desert looking around for the familiar ki. He'd made sure to stick behind so she wouldn't spot him. He looked up. Her ki was now in one place and sort of low. She must be exhausted from the heat and physical labor. Piccolo blamed himself for allowing her to leave the area.
Piccolo then spotted a small outline on the desert ground. He squinted his eyes and went down for a closer look. He landed and stood above Kristy's body. He got down on one knee and felt her pulse on her wrist. It was there. He then took her opposite shoulder from him, and turned her over.
"Doesn't look too good.." he said to himself.
He put his arm in his pant's pocket and pulled out a small sack. He lifted her head and put the sack to her mouth. It was kind of hard to get water when you're unconscious but it would help nonetheless. He put it back in his pocket.
He carefully picked up her body by the waist and threw her onto his shoulder. He kept his hand on her back to make sure she didn't fall off. He turned around and took off to the sky once more.
Kristy lazily opened her eyes. She was on the ground in front of a lake she'd used for water supplies during the weeks she's been there. She looked around.
"How did I get here?" she asked puzzled.
She climbed herself onto a near by rock and sat up against the cliff wall. She breathed hard and took a scan of the area. Yep. This was the place she'd started out at. But how did she get here?
"Heh. Guess I'll never know," she said almost thankfully.
She was glad she didn't die in that desert. The only bad part about this was that she didn't accomplish her goal and she was back where she started. Kristy then remembered what Piccolo had said when he first left her here.
"How long will you be gone?" she remembered asking him.
"As long as it takes you to master the training."
Kristy slammed her fist into her palm. "I'm going to master that training no matter what," she said confidently.
Piccolo smirked with crossed arms. "Yes. I know that you'll be a great fighter with that attitude."
Tien, Chaot-zu, Krillen, 18, Marron, and Yamcha had gathered at the Kame House. They had learned the news of the up-coming Tentakachi Bodokai from Goku. Marron sat in a lawn chair reading a teen magazine. Tien was sparring with Chaot-zu and Krillen with 18. Yamcha sat on the roof with one knee up and his arms behind his head, not participating in the training.
"Yamcha!" Tien called, pausing in sparring. "Why don't you join us?"
"I'm not into fighting nowadays," Yamcha said. "Anyways, the Saiyans would easily beat me.
Tien and Chaot-zu couldn't believe what they were hearing.
"Don't give up," Chaot-zu said in his high pitched voice.
Yamcha turned around the other way. "What's the use."
Tien narrowed his eyes.
Before Yamcha knew it, he was being sprayed with the hose. "Aaahhh!" he yelled falling off the roof.
Master Roshi-who was holding the hose on Yamcha-said, "Stop your jabbering, and get to training."
"Ba, oo, ee," he said with his mouth being hit with water as he tried to talk.
"No buts, get to it," Master Roshi commanding turning down the water.
Yamcha glared at him and got up to join the others in sparring. "You could have just asked," he said sourly.
