Dragonball: Next Generation - Chapter 7

It was a beautiful day in nature. The sun gave a warm glow as it reached up into the clear sky. The snow was melting and flowing from the mountains into rivers. A slight breeze waved through the plains of green grass and wild flowers. The only sound that disturbed the tranquil surroundings was the sound of a battle.

Kristy fell to the ground after taking yet another hit. Piccolo stood over her with crossed arms, covering her face with his shadow.

"Get up! You're getting lazy."

Kristy struggled to push herself off the ground. She managed to stand up in a tired manner. She breathed hard to catch her breath.

"Well..what do you expect?" she breathed harshly.

"We've been sparring since dawn. And you beating me down like I was a punching bag doesn't help," she concluded bitterly.

Piccolo scowled then smirked. "You want a break? You're going to earn it first."

Kristy narrowed her eyes and crouched down into a fighting stance.

"You want it that way? Fine."

She then pushed off the ground and straight for Piccolo. Piccolo punched forward and hit her square in the stomach. Kristy let out a gagging noise then landed on the ground on one knee, holding her stomach with her left hand, and her right fist on the ground looking up at him. He then extended his arm and shot a yellow blast. Kristy disappeared from the average persons' sight. She then appeared jumping at Piccolo with her right leg in front, preparing to hit Piccolo's left cheek with a kick. Piccolo leaned back a little. Kristy passed in front of him and her eyes widened, seeing that she missed. She then brought up her right arm trying to hit the other side of his head. He caught her arm as it was about to hit him. He smirked.

"Nice try..but not good enough."

Chichi stomped to the front of Capsule Corp.

"Really, Chichi," Goku said from behind. "Don't you think you're taking this a little hard?"

"No!" she barked. How could he think that she was taking this hard? "Darn Piccolo! He always gets in the way of my children's' school work!"

"But Kristy isn't your kid...."

"Shut up!" she yelled in frustration.

If only Goku would pick his butt up and find the two, she wouldn't be here right now! When she told Goku to go get them, he said that he didn't want to disturb their training. She even threatened to take away his beloved food. Even though Goku could be quite stupid sometimes, he knew he could always ask for something from his friends. It's very frustrating when you're trying to force your husband to do what you want.

"Goohaaaann!!!" she yelled from the first floor in Gohan's house.

She crossed her arms and looked very frightening with her angry look.

Gohan winced at the loud shriek. He knew immediately who it was... Only the woman that bore him could yell like that. Bulma was close but Chichi was definitely the louder one.

Chichi saw her oldest son walk down the steps. He was wearing the usual thick glasses and blue suit.

"What is it, Mom? Is there a problem?"

"YES, there is a problem," she responded angrily, "Piccolo took Kristy training!"

And the problem is..?

"Mom, are you still worried about her?"

"Of course I am!" How could she not be? What if Piccolo took Pan to train? Wouldn't he be worried? Or is he just an irresponsible parent who doesn't care about the well being of his child? Chichi pushed the thought out. Not her little boy.

"Gohan, you're going out there and find them NOW!" Chichi ordered.

"But-"

"GET GOING!" she yelled kicking him out the door and closing it behind him.

Gohan turned around to look at the door.

"Hey! This is MY house!"

The door didn't open. He could have easily busted the door but then he would have to face his mother again. He decided it would be safer just to leave and find his mentor and his new student. He turned around and took off, doing just that.

The Namek man and the human girl faced off again. Kristy was badly bruised and her right eye was half closed from pain. Even though she couldn't see under her orange outfit, she very well knew that it was covered in bruises like the rest of her aching body. Piccolo was only slightly bruised here and there. The most visible one was on his right cheek. And his clothes were a bit dirty but besides that, he was okay.

Kristy threw a punch at Piccolo's stomach. He easily grabbed her fist with his left hand. Before he had the chance to throw her into a mountain or something, she kicked up with her left leg, hitting him in his already visible bruise on his cheek. He then punched her in the face, sending her back. She flipped once in the air then landed on all fours and slid across the ground. She stood up but winced in pain, when she saw her knees flowing blood through the holes in her pants. She stood up mostly straight, ready for the next move, ignoring the pain. She had remembered a quote from a movie. The guy had said 'Pain is good. It reminds you that you're not dead yet'. She had thought that was a little weird but now she knew that in a way it was true. Sometimes when she was in severe pain, she thought that she would be die, but the pain kept on reminding her that she was not dead yet. She had learned a lot these past few months. More than Piccolo had intended to teach her.

She then heard a rustle in a bush behind her. She turned her head around. Both her and Piccolo stared at the bush while it rustled again.

"Come out whoever you are," Piccolo commanded.

A figure slowly came out of the bush. It was wearing some kind of suit. The person walked out of the shadows.

"Gohan?!" Kristy and Piccolo yelled in unison.

"Yep. It's me."

Kristy walked up to him and slapped him on the arm.

"Don't do that!" she yelled angrily, "You could have got yourself killed!"

Gohan smiled. "If I hadn't come here, I would have."

"?"

"Mom..."

That's all the explanation he needed. Piccolo and Kristy nodded.

"Figures.." Kristy said.

Gohan sighed. "Mom was worried that you wouldn't be all right."

Gohan eyed Kristy. She was covered in bruises and dirt. Her outfit had holes in the knees and was basically tattered up.

"Man, good thing Mom didn't come and see you like this."

Just then they heard a loud noise above them. It was the sound of an air car..

"Oh no!" Gohan yelled panicking. The air car landed 30 feet away from them. They stared as a blue haired woman calmly walked out of the car. They all sighed a sigh of relief.

"Phew. It's just Bulma," Gohan said, allowing his heart rate to go down once more.

Bulma strolled up to the trio. "How are things going over here?"

"Well," Piccolo said.

"More or less," Kristy said, feeling the sting of the bruises once more.

Bulma looked down at her. "I have just the thing for you.."

She turned around and dug into the back seat of her air car.

"I know it's here somewhere... Aw! Here it is!"

She took out a brown bag and walked over to them. She handed Kristy a bean.

Kristy looked at it. "Um..Why are you giving me a bean?"

"It's not any regular bean, just eat it."

Kristy looked up at Piccolo questionably. He gave a slight nod of his head. She turned back to the bean and popped it into her mouth. She chewed then swallowed. All of her bruises faded to the normal color of her European colored skin. The wounds on her knees disappeared as well. So did the blood that had been running from them. Not only this, but energy and strength ran through her body, revitalizing her tired body.

"Whoa.." was all she could say. "Cool!"

Gohan and Bulma smiled. Bulma handed over the bag filled with other beans to Piccolo. He took them and put them on his dark blue belt.

Now that Kristy felt better she was in a better mood to talk.

"Hey Gohan, what are you going to do about Chichi?"

"I don't really know.."

"Just tell her you couldn't find them," Bulma suggested.

"That would probably be the best idea," Gohan agreed.

"And if she asks why you couldn't find us, you can just say that we hid our ki's," Piccolo said with crossed arms.

"Huh?" Kristy asked.

"I'm going to teach you today how to do it."

"I think I'll be going now," Bulma said getting into her car.

"Good luck!" she smiled and took off.

"I should be going too," Gohan said. "Goodbye Mr. Piccolo, goodbye Kristy."

"Bye!" Kristy yelled just before he blasted off from the ground into the sky.

When they were gone, Kristy asked Piccolo, "What if Chichi comes here?"

"Then you'll have your first battle to the death."
