The Explorer Society

The following article was submitted by Lord Father Dante. (Thank you, you were the first to submit -The Bilge Rat)

Sumbit your strategy by sending me an email.

Keys to a successful Explorers Deck:

1. Constant Pressure. Do not let the enemy breath, go after them as early as turn 1, but no later than turn 3.

2. Versatility. The Explorers can adapt to any faction on the first turn by simply using Guy to get the adventure that will hurt them (or help you) the most.

3. Damage Absorption. Who needs it? Do not waste space in your deck with quick tacks or near misses. Your opponent should be worried about your damage not the other way around.

4. Starting crew. Always start with three Explorers. If you are unable to use Guy's ability on the first turn you might as well give up. My games always start out the same way: Use Guy to get Eisen cannons - Play the cannons - tack the Discovery to move - tack the Archaeologists for the cannons - put the cannons on Samuel Sanderson. By now your opponent should be tack out. Use Maggie to sail over and smite them with Samuel. Then use Guy to hit them again, or bring another crew out.

One last note: Every Explorer deck should contain the following:
1. Sails of Wind
2. Becalmed (The best card in the game!)
3. Only Two Came Out
4. Charter

Until Our Ships Pass Again,
Lord Father Dante
