How to install a Billet Grill on a 1998 Sonoma:
Step 1: Remove the stock grill from the factory housing. There will be about four factory clips that need to simply be pulled out and the whole housing bracket comes right out.
Step 2: This show's the piece that comes out. Notice the factory GMC tags.
Step 3: Use a wrench or socket set and remove the GMC lettering. The bolts are on the backside of the factory lettering. This is what is left after the letters are removed.
Step 4: This shows the billet grill when it is placed over the factory grill. This is the only way you can connect it. We tried it multiple different ways, but placing the billet grill over the stock grill is the only way.
Step 5: To connect the billet grill to the factory grill, you need to use "zip ties". They will secure the items together. Once they are connected, use a knife, scissors, box cutter, or any other sharp object and cut the excess plastic off the ties.
Step 6: Take a look at what an improvement it is. The pictures dont do it justice. It is a very nice upgrade and is very easy to do.
