Christmas Baskets 2000
Floss 'N Gloss put together a christmas gift basket program in the month of December so it was last minute, but very worthwhile to the families that were helped.
We put together a committe picked from our car club members and they decided on the number of families that would be helped and to what extent. The committee decided that five families would be helped in the Deleware County area. Those families were hand picked from those that the committee was aware of and knew their needs.
Each family received a grocery bag full of can goods, a bag of potatoes, a second grocery bag full of other food goods, and a third grocery bag stuffed with toys for the children.
Each family was apreciative and thanked the car club for its good deed and civic awareness. The only regret was that the families helped were not larger. We hope to help around 10 families a year in the following times. It will be planned at a sooner time hopefully businesses in the community will jump on board and see what "Floss 'N Gloss" is doing and donate to the cause.
This years only sponsor was Morningside Crime Watch. He supplied goods for the club to donate. We know that the families touched would have only been a fraction of the amount had it not been for the support of the Morningside Crime Watch.
