A look at the careers of several former Cardinals now playing overseas
By ANDY THORPE

Muncie, IN -- Six former Ball State players are currenlty playing for teams in Europe and South America. Here is a short account of each players career as a professional player:

PARIS MCCURDY Class of 1990 — There was never a more fan-favorite Cardinal player than McCurdy, in his two seasons after transfering from Arkansas-Little Rock, McCurdy left a lasting impression on all Ball State fans and on all MAC foes. McCurdy was known as an enforcer both on defense and on the glass. McCurdy left opponets shaking in their boots with his ability to talk anyone and I mean anyone out of their game (i.e. Gary Payton).

McCurdy nearly made the Sacramento Kings roster directly out of BSU even though he was not drafted. If it were not for a last minute trade that brought two players to the Kings roster, McCurdy would have been part of their opening day roster.      Over the next few seasons McCurdy bounced around several leagues playing for several teams in hopes of making it back to te NBA. McCurdy spent 1990-94 playing for teams in the CBA, USBL and several foreign contries. In 1995 and 96, McCurdy played for the Quad City Thunder in the CBA for former BSU coach Dick Hunsacker.
