TRAVEL TOURNAMENT RULES

 

FIELD & GAME SPECIFICATIONS:

                        PITCHING & BASES:

bullet7 & 8's Coaches pitch, Bases 60ft Pitching is from 35ft.
bullet9 & 10's Pitching: 46ft, Bases 65ft
bullet11 & 12's Pitching: 50ft, Bases 70ft
bullet13's Pitching: 54 ft, Bases 80ft
bullet14's Pitching: 60ft 6in, Bases 90ft

7 & 8U, will play a 6 inning game. (Five runs max per inning except the last inning, which is all you can get.) (In the event that any other inning is declared the last inning other than the sixth inning, it will be declared all you can get.)

bullet9 - 12's will be 6 innings
bullet13's will be seven innings.
bullet7 & 8's will have a 1hr 30 minute max.
bullet9 & 10's will have a 1hr 30 minute max
bullet9- 12's will have a 1hr 45 minute max
bullet13 & 14's will have a 2hr max.

Innings that start after the time limit due to a tie will begin the inning with a runner on second base. That runner will be the last batted out from the previous inning.

GAME PLAY:

bulletGame time is forfeit time:
bulletTeams should be at the designated diamond ½ hour prior to the game to exchange line ups, and coin flip. If the previous game ends early be prepared to play.
bulletNine players on defense, (7 & 8U will be ten on defense.)
bulletA team must have a minimum of eight players to begin a game.
bullet7's thru 12U will use a continuous batting order
bullet13 & 14U May opt to use a continuous batting order. (If using a continuous batting order this must be communicated to the home plate umpire and opposing manager.
bulletIf a team is using a continuous batting order and a injury occurs resulting in a player not being able to continue NO penalty will be assessed the players spot in the order will be skipped. He may NOT return.
bulletIf a player is removed from the game for any other reason. His spot in the lineup will be considered an out.
bulletThere is free substitutions for continuous line ups
bulletRun rules are as follows 12 after 4, 10 after 5
bullet

Courtesy runners may be used for the pitcher and catcher when there are two outs. The runner will be the last batted out. This rule is used to speed up play.

Runners must make an attempt to slide to avoid contact when a tag is waiting. This is not a slide rule. If the defensive player does not have the ball, the offensive player does not have to slide and can take action to miss a tag. Malicious contact will not be allowed and will result in ejection.

EQUIPMENT:

7U - 13U Can use 2 3/4 barrel bats

14U Can use 2 5/8 barrel bats

Batst must meet (BESR) standards and labeled as such. 

PITCHING:

bullet9-12 Under 6 innings max per day / 10 innings max in two day period.                              
bullet13 & Under 7 innings max per day / 12 innings max in two day period.

COACHES PITCH SPECIAL RULES:

bulletNO infield fly rule
bulletMinimum pitching distance 35ft
bulletA maximum of 5 runs per inning. This excludes the last inning. The last declared inning will be all you can get. The last inning can be any inning as deemed per the umpire in a time limit situation. Both coaches will be notified prior to the beginning of the inning.
bulletDefensive players will be required to stop play. (Once the lead runner is stopped or gives themselves up play will be stopped.)
bulletA maximum of five pitches will be given. Fouls do not count as the final pitch.
bulletA batter can strike out if they reach three strikes prior to five pitches or a fair hit ball. 
bulletThe player pitcher must take a position within six feet of the coach pitcher on either side. (NOT IN FRONT OF)

GENERAL RULES:

Any player or coach that is ejected from the game must leave the playing area. And will be suspended for the next game as well.

There are no protests. Umpires decision is final.

Only coaches and players in uniform will be allowed in the dugout.

TIE-BREAKER CRITERIA:

bulletLeast number of runs allowed
bulletMost shut out innings
bulletCoin flip

In the event of a three way tie, the breaker scenario will be used until one team is eliminated. When only two teams remain the tie breaker scenario will begin at step one.

Phone numbers for weather related game status information 812-663-4676. Whenever lightning is detected play will be suspended and players will be sent to their dugouts.

There is no batting practice prior to games

There is to be no warm ups in the spectator area.

Teams are responsible to clean up their dugout after the game.
