The fae of the Daoine Sidhe would ask those that wish to join them, to please take a few steps first before applying; Please make sure, if possible, that you have read our help file, and skimmed/read over our web page to have a better understanding of what we're about. Understanding our new recruitment process will hopefully help those who are applying in the hopes of joining us on our sacred lands.
The following steps below describe what an applicant of the Daoine Sidhe will have to do to join:
1. To begin the process, the applicant must write a note to daoine on the personal board. (You put daoine in the section To: )
2. Notes submitted do not have specific guidelines to abide by, however, we will be more impressed by a note that say, describes
why your joining, and what you plan to give and get out of it, or perhaps an application that 'in character' talks of or describes your character. Those types of notes will more likely impress us, then an application note that simply states.. "I want to join Daoine. I'm [level], [race], and [class].
3. The applicant, will soon be interviewed by a number of Fae from the Daoine Sidhe. Most likely 2 to 3 interviewers will contact the applicant at various times, at which point interviews will be taken with the individual.
4. After the interviews, if the Sidhe feel that the applicant is right and truly in the want of joining them because of their theme, two tests will be given.
5. The first, a quest of mischief and playful pranks. The applicant will be given a time period to think of something mischevious, devious, and all around just silly to do. Whether directed at player(s), an aspect of Aardwolf, a clan, etc.. Do not worry too much about the time period, as we will give you time to pass through this section. It is advised that before or as the prank is being played out, that you contact a few Daoine on at the time, so that they may watch the prank as it is played.
6. After the prank has been done, the next step is to write a note to daoine again on personal. The note is to describe your prank as you planned it, what it's results were, and the like. Please make sure to also include who you notified in Daoine that your prank was occuring, and that you had them witness (whether via having a channel on, or accompanying you, etc) the event. This test is to prove that you can and will be mischevious, as that is a major focal point of our clan. It shows that we know that you can handle pranks being played on you in the clan, and that pranks are played on those outside the clan, all in good health, and merrymaking.
7. If the clan as a majority feels your act of mischief was well thought up and silly, then you will move to the next and final stage. You will be given a quest to kill a desired mob, or perhaps deliver something from the leader to a mob, or from one mob to another. Mob names will of course, not likely be given, so when applying, it's best to keep in mind to know the areas around your level(higher levels for remorts). Speedwalks are forbidden. Hunting is forbidden. Door type spells are as well. This test is to prove that you have a formidable knowledge of the mud, and that you do indeed like to explore and quest, which is a section of our clan's theme.
8. If you have made it up to this point, then, Congratulations! For you have proven your worth. You will be accepted into a world of laughter and mirth. You will be welcome upon our sacred ground. As a fae, you will be given a tour of our hall, and all it and your kin has to offer. Fae come in many different forms and sizes. From pixies, to leprechauns, centaurs, and even the occasional gryphon or hellhound. So don't be suprised, when you find yourself sitting face to face with an anthro-dragon, intent on giving you an interview.
Note: We have a limit of members per month. Two to three applicants will be accepted per month. Humans need not apply to the clan.
