The Girl Scouts of Raintree Council was organized on September 10, 1957. Raintree Council serves the girls in South West Indiana and a smal portion of Illinois along the Ohio and Wabash Rivers. Raintree Council has three camps, Camp Koch, Carmi Little House, and Camp Three Lakes.

Legendary Johnny Appleseed, wandered the midwest carrying among his appleseeds a single, exotic seed... from a golden raintree. Looking for a place where it would flourish and grow, he planted it somewhere in Indiana. Legend has it that those who find the raintree discover the realization of all dreams.
