Santa Fe Doodlebug

This is by far one of the most unique cars of all time. The EMC Gas-Electric Doodlebug. It's part passenger car, part engine, and has a steam engine cowcatcher, but its gas powered! That's the major misconception, doodlebugs were powered by a Winton inline 8-cylinder gasoline engine (not diesel) that provided power to electric traction motors. It wasn't until the 1940's that doodlebugs were changed over to diesel power. The doodlebug on my layout is Santa Fe M.131 (M for motorcar) is painted in the "Mustache" paint scheme and is from MTH Railking. It also has Protosounds and provides very realistic sounds all the way to the hillbilly conductor that makes the station announcements. Here's some pictures...

The Real Thing

This isn't mine. This is the real Santa Fe M.177.
