You walk into a cheerily lit cave with a sandy floor. You look around and see no spectacular features. It is a cave, medium size, and very warm. In the very centre is a slight hollow. You approach it quietly.
A trilling noise startles you. You pull back and stumble on your own feet. Both pixies laugh heartily at your fright. 'Don't be afraid, she's only a baby!' Kalika giggles again. 'Her name is Arilath. Well, go on! Go say hello.' You try again and walk up to the hollow. Peeking inside, you see a small, pinkish dragon. She stares up at you with turquoise eyes and mewls in her loneliness.
You kneel down and pet the small dragonet's soft hide. She quivers for a moment, then relaxes and lets out a sigh of contentment. You ask how long she has been out of the egg, and the pixies glance at each other.
'Well, you see, Arilath is a Xir dragon. Xir dragons are born live, not from eggs. They are related to Pernese dragons, but their colours are much more varied. Plus, while they have teleportation powers, they need to have a clear picture of where they are at the present, rather than where they are going.'
You boggle over this, and decide it is time to leave. After giving Arilath one last stroke, you climb to your feet and walk to the cave doorway.
