You continue through the wide corridor, deeper into the heart of the caverns. Your footsteps echo back to you off of the walls and high ceiling. The pixies continue to describe the inner workings of the caverns.
'These caves tend to be warmer than those further down,' explains Kalika, 'mainly because of the sulfer springs. The heat from the springs drifts up, which brings it here. That is what keeps all of the caves in the caverns warm, but these near the entrance stay especially warm. That is why we keep the eggs and babies here.'
'Also,' Rikale adds, 'to keep the young out of the elder dragons' way. Plus, they tend to get into less trouble up here. There aren't nearly as many tunnels to get lost in while exploring!'
'Well, want to visit some more babies?' asks Kalika.
