You scramble up the branches of the oak tree, hoping that it is not too far to the ground. A rather unintelligent glance down proves that you are indeed very far up. You close your eyes and cling to the tree, praying that you will get out of this alive.
Kalika lands on a branch by your nose. 'Hurry up, now. We haven't got all day.' She looks at you and sighs in exasperation. 'Don't worry, things will get much better once you reach the top. The cats have houses of sorts up there, almost like nests. They should be comfortable enough for you to feel safe in.' She tugs at your shirt, and you begin to climb again.
Once to the top, you see that there is a large structure built on the branches of the huge oak. It reminds you of a treehouse, yet far more comfortable, and with doors that you can not imagine normal humans walking through with ease. As you approach the dwelling, a voice drifts to your ears : 'Keep your wings on, I'll be out in a second!' You stare at your two pixie guides in astonishment. Kalika giggles.
You sit on a large branch that curves, making you a rather comfortable seat. After several minutes pass, you crane your neck to watch the dwelling again. You nearly fall out of the tree when a grey head quickly thrusts itself out of the treehouse door. Brilliant emerald eyes stare at you; you have the uncomfortable feeling that their look is of disgust. The entire animal slinks through the door, and you see that it is a cat. A winged cat. Your eyes open wide in amazement.
The cat approaches you curiously, tilting its head like a common housecat. She then smiles, a rather odd sight, and one you will probably never forget.
Rikale turns to you. 'This is Syrasia. She is a Moon Cat, a very rare breed of feline. They are almost never seen in the wild anymore.' You have to agree with that. Not only have you never seen a Moon Cat, you have never seen a winged cat, period, in the wild.
Syrasia sniffs indignantly. 'I am quite capable of introducing myself, thank you. But I won't.' Syrasia turns and stalks off.
'Well then,' Kalika huffs.
