Climbing the Silvery Tree
You are sweating. You are in pain. You never wish to climb another tree, as long as you live! It is official; trees are sadistic and horrible. They are so tall, so slippery, and the only way to get up is to climb! You hate trees! You hate them so much that--...
'Are you quite finished?' You jump and look into the blue eyes of a strange cat-like creature. It looks to be rabbit-soft, yet its fur is strange; the fur on its legs appears to contain every colour of the rainbow! You gasp in wonder at the beauty of this creature before you.
It sniffs you curiously. The cat suddenly wrinkles its nose and faces the pixies. 'You could have brought up a human who smells a little better. Or rolled this one in fewmets for an hour or so. Phew!' You glare at the tenacity of this cat, who merely chuckles and winks at you. 'No offense meant, of course.'
'Please, do try to behave,' Rikale chides the cat. She then turns to you. 'This is Balingo, a prism-tipped cat. Living in this tree also is Silath, who is a Ramalkin. Ramalkins are winged cats, which makes a tree convenient. No climbing.'
'Tell me about it,' Balingo mutters.
'By the by, where is Silath?' asks Kalika. You shudder at the thought of continuing this climb, even to see a winged cat. Is it worth the trouble? You aren't sure.
'Not a clue,' answers Balingo, 'but I can find out. SILATH!!'
'Whassat?' calls a voice above you. A gorgeous, winged orange cat flies down, landing on your branch. 'My god, it's a human!' Silath looks you over, mumbling softly to herself. 'I never thought I'd live to see a human...'
Silath purrs and rubs her head against your shoulder. You oblige and scratch behind her ears. 'Ahh, I could get used to living with one of you around.' The cat purrs louder and licks you, making you laugh out loud.
'Alright, party's over,' Kalika tells the cats. 'We have places to go!' After much protesting, the cats grumble and move off to higher branches of their tree.
