You walk into a cave with a warm, stone floor. You look around and notice a strange phenomenon : the torches are flickering! You turn, shocked, to your pixie guides, asking them how this could possibly be. Kalika chuckles and answers.
'It is probably just one of the older dragons. They do enjoy magic experiments. One must be working on sharpening their weather-working skills.' She giggles again and smiles. You shrug and turn to examine the rest of the cave.
Your eye is caught by a deep green head, peering out at you from another cave in this set. You notice that you are in a small antechambre; this must be a dragon's equilvilent to a parlour. The dragon blinks its black eyes, staring intently at you. You stare back. It smiles, showing rows of sharp, white teeth.
Rikale waves her hand towards the dragon with a flourish. 'This is Keedge,' she says to you.
'I can introduce myself just fine,' the green dragon rumbles. He snorts disgruntledly, then turns his attention back to you. 'Hello, human. I am Keedge. I am,' he pauses dramatically, 'a jade KingdomDragon.' You merely stare. 'Like Orthil, but jade instead of white. You met her, yes? If not, you really must. She lives in the cave just to the north.' The dragon sighs gustily. You blink, attempting to stifle laughter; this young dragon is love-struck!
You turn to Kalika and Rikale, asking them what a KingdomDragon is, since your green friend is apparently out of commission for a while. The two pixies look at each other and giggle.
'If you want the full explanation,' Kalika tells you, 'go and visit Orthil. She is always happy to tell anyone who ask... and plenty who don't.' This time Keedge joins the giggling as well. You ponder this statement
You scratch your head and crack your back. You walk towards the cave exit, with a final longing glance back towards the jade dragon. As you turn, you notice a small sign on the wall :
You read the sign, your eyes quickly seeing the name of the adoption agency. You consider picking up an egg of your own. After all, Keedge is incredibly cute...
