You find yourself at an empty corner. Discouraged,
you let out a sigh. Your head lifts suddenly as you hear giggling
off to your left! You scan the trees carefully, and sure enough,
you catch a glimpse of the tiny dragonmoth Brill. He giggles
again and motions towards you.
'Get over here, silly! Don't just stand
there, Malika wants to meet a human, too!' You approach the
tree and see a brilliant, irridescent dragonmoth perched beside Brill. You
question the creature's identity and are told that, yes, this is Malika. She
chuckles and takes flight, circling your head curiously.
'A pleasure,' the tiny creature says in a surprisingly
husky voice. You bow politely. 'I've never seen a
human before,' she continues. 'What do you eat?' You blush
and describe your diet to Malika, who eyes you dubiously. 'No wonder
humans are in such bad moods. You really must add more fruit
to your diet! Maybe some honey as well, or some nectar!' The
tiny dragonmoths question you about your lifestyle and habitat, and are
very willing to describe theirs.
'We tend to eat fruits and nectar from flowers,' Brill
explains. 'Sunlight is also nice. We love to bask
in the sun and drink in its warmth. We can live in cool climates,
but only if we have a place to get warm.' You question them
about the rumours that dragonmoths and dragonflies can work magic, which
they confirm. But when you attempt to discover the limits and
extents of their powers, they laugh. 'It's a secret!' Brill
whispers loudly. The two dragonmoths giggle and disappear. After
a fruitless search for Brill and Malika, you give up and continue your
explorations.
