The Portals
You follow Kalika and Rikale through a tiny animal trail you didn't spot before. They lead you through thick trees that seem to block the rest of the world from your sight. A clearing opens up before you. Bright shimmering colours pierce your senses. These must be the portals.
'These portals,' Kalika tells you, 'will take you to every adoption agency in the realm. They were mainly put up as a convenience for Rikale and I, but we're allowing visitors to use them, too. I, personally, find it to almost be cheating.' The pixie sniffs indignantly.
'Oh Kalika, stop it.' Rikale frowns at her friend. Then, turning to you, she smiles. 'Go ahead and enter a portal. Or, if you want, we can take you back to our abode's entrance.' Rikale waves her hand in the direction of the portals. Enter one?
