You continue south through the glade, only to find
yourself at a dead end! That can't be! You search
the trees vainly for a path of some sort, but to no avail. You
turn to go, when your thoughts are interrupted by a voice.
'What be ye doin' in me glade, eh? Rikale,
this is an 'uman, aye?' You turn and see a small, redheaded
pixie dressed in green. She is looking to Rikale for a reply, one
delicate eyebrow arched in question. Rikale nods at her, and
she continues her tirade. 'What does it think it's doin' 'ere
then? This be me spot 'o peace, me one an' only sanctuary.' The
pixie blows a rampant wisp of hair off of her forhead and looks to her
fellow pixies expectantly.
'Sinead O'Hara, meet our human guest.' Kalika
waves a hand towards you impressively. Sinead merely purses
her lips unhappily.
'Sinead, look. When you agreed to live here,
you agreed to put up with our guests. That includes humans!' Rikale
stares the pixie in the eye; you feel nervous, as if you may have to witness
a battle. The two redheaded pixies might get vicious. You
cringe slightly.
'Humpf! Well I suppose I'll 'ave to accept
this 'uman then, eh?' Rikale and Kalika nod in unison. Sinead
sniffs slightly, and turns to you with a weak smile. 'Forgive
me, I 'ave not 'ad a good past with your kind. Not a good past
at all.' You nod in understanding, and bid the pixie farewell. Best
not to get on her bad side. She waves politely and perches on
a tree, watching your departure.
