On Unicorn Colours
There are numerous colours of the beast Unicorn, the total
number being Almost unlimited, when mutations are accounted for. The
unicorn comes in All normal colours of the rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow,
Green, Blue, Indigo, And Violet, as well as Black, White, and Grey. Unicorn
hierarchy puts the More common colours of Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green
before the less Common of Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Black, White,
and Grey are considered 'Rare' colours, and are higher up in unicorn hierarchy.
Even more rare than these are the 'Elemental Unicorns', and
the 'Sky Unicorns'. Of elementals there are various types of
Fire/Light, Water, Wind, And Earth/Stone unicorns. Sky Unicorns
include Dawn, Dusk, Night, and Cloud unicorns.
Most rare and hardly ever seen are the 'Metallic Unicorns'. These
vary from Platinum, Gold, Silver, Brass, and various mixes. Metallic
Unicorns are Extremely quick-tempered, and do not take well to living with
other creatures, Including other unicorns.
A hatching of unicorns (clutch of eggs) can vary from five
or six eggs (common unicorn females) to over thirty eggs (metallic female).
Each Large Hatching will commonly contain at least one elemental
unicorn, with several Rare/uncommon, and many common. A common
coloured unicorn, however, Rarely produces elementals or skies.
Unicorn eggs are all brightly mottled; all look alike. Unicorn
colour cannot Be determined by the egg. Eggs must be kept warm
and clean. Unicorn eggs Take one week to hatch into the unicorn
foal.
Foals are normally pale, with long, spindly legs. They
must be watched after, As they enjoy getting into mischief. Adult
colour is hinted at by the foal's Colour, although elemental, sky, and
metallic unicorns may appear to be Common, uncommon, or rare unicorn colours. Their
true appearances do not Show until adulthood. Foals mature within
two weeks of hatching.
