A Small Cave
You follow the two pixies into a small, warm cave with a stony floor. There is a strange, white light coming from the walls. At your look of alarm, both pixies merely chuckle. 'Don't worry about that. One of the elder dragons, Orthil I believe, set that up. Much more handy than torches, don't you think?' You nod at Kalika and move into the cave. Facing you is a medium-sized grey dragon. Cocking his head, he regards you curiously. He grins broadly at you, making you feel a bit nervous.
'Xanlian,' Kalika snaps, 'behave yourself!' Kalika shakes her head in disgust, glaring at the grey dragon until he has the presense to look ashamed. He hangs his head, looking at you sheepishly.
'Ok, ok,' the dragons mutters. 'I apologize if I made you upset, human. But your kind is so facinating! No scales, no magic within. How do you cast spells by drawing in power from other sources, anyway?' Xanlian barages you with questions. You stutter, trying to come up with a good explanation. Unfortunately, you don't have one.
'Come now, leave the poor human alone,' Rikale tells the dragon. 'If you have questions about magic, you know you should ask Orthil. She's a genius when it comes to dragon magic. Or Kalika; she has quite a bit of knowledge on human magic, as well.' Kalika looks quite smug about that.
Shaking your head at the grey dragon, you bid him a polite farewell and turn to leave. On the way out, you notice a small steel sign on the cave wall:
Name: Xanlian
Stage: Adult
Color: Grey
Gender: Male
Clutch: Found 3
Mate: None
Adopted from Sanctuary
Basin
You think for a moment and decide that you might stop by and get your own egg. Hopefully it will be just as intelligent as this dragon!
