When I saw you the first time,
On that cold autumn day,
You were like a bright light,
In a dark room,
And you took my breath away.
With your deep intense eyes,
And a smile that shined,
You were the only one I wanted.
I knew right then,
That I had to make you mine.
For days I only thought of you.
Your face lingered in my mind day and night.
Even though we were apart,
It was like we were so close.
In an instant you had my heart.
And with it you took my soul.
Blinded by my feelings,
I let you think take everything I had.
I fell for you like a fool.
While I gave my heart to you,
You gave yours to someone else.
I guess to you it seemed,
I was never there at all.
Can you imagine how that felt?
How could you act like that?
As if you never cared.
Well, I can do that too.
I can banish you from my thought,
And pretend you were never there.
