Fair Comes To End With Auto Racing
A week-long series of top notch Kosciusko County Fair grandstand features came to a close Saturday with local auto racing. A good-sized crowd watched 69 cars battle it out in semi-late, modified and hobby divisions. Ray Chambers, Rusty Perry and Jerry Egolf were winners in those respective classes. In the semi-late feature, 20 cars started, but only nine finished after several accidents on the wet fairgrounds quarter-mile track. Next week's regular action will contain double features to make up for last week's rain-out. Besides auto racing, fairgrounds fans had a chance to see championship racing, auto thrill drivers and Indiana chariot racing this year.
