I Want The TV On!

A friend’s parent’s house is haunted. The house is in the historical district of Madison Indiana. This section has recently been recognized as part of the Underground Railroad. As are most of the houses in downtown Madison, my friends is a "shotgun" house, you enter the living room, walk through a bedroom and a family room, into the kitchen. Several different people have reported seeing an old man walk through the house then vanish. The upstairs is layed out similar to the bottom. As with most of these houses which were probably designed so that several families could live together in one, it is very large and one family hardly needs more then the upstairs or downstairs. The upstairs of the house has been converted into an apartment which my friend lived in for a long time. I spent many nights there growing up on the weekends. I never seen the old man but did experience a few strange occurrences. One being that as we sat looking at pictures and putting together a photo album the TV suddenly came on, the channel flipped to Country Music Videos and the volume went all the way up. We were the only two upstairs at the time and the TV remote had broken about a month before. We both looked at each other, and so I got up and turned the TV off. As soon as I set back down it came on and the volume went up all the way again. The weirdest thing about it is the TV was a older floor model in a cabinet, and had to be hooked up to a cable box on top of the TV, The buttons for the channels was on top of the cable box, the TV power and volume controls was behind a panel you had to open to access. The third time I got up and instead of turning off the TV I half jokingly said, "Well if you insist on watching Country Music then you at least have to keep the volume down so we can talk!" I turned the volume down and went back to the couch. It stayed where I put it. My friend had a picture hanging on the wall of a family member; every time I seen it would always have a few more cracks in the glass. My friend reported that she couldn't keep the picture on the wall, it constantly fell off. It was a treasured photo that at sometime been exposed to water so the picture was stuck to the glass. After futile attempts to hang the picture, it was placed on an end table. As I sit there one evening, the picture flew off the end table and crashed into the wall, shattering almost everything that was left of the glass.
