Plate Engraving Gallery One

For personal needs, I also produce granite, plate works. Imagine, a portrait of a loved one, a nature scene or medival fantasy perfectly captured in granite. Everyone has wall hangings, but these handsome pieces can set on your coffee table, mantle, shelves or where ever you prefer.

Imagine an art piece you can actually pic up and touch, and show to your family and friends. When finished, just wipe off finger prints with a dust rag and place the work back on its stand. It's far easier to appreciate a work you can actually handle and touch. Plus, polished granite works are much more elegant than traditional wall hangings.

Granite, plate engravings come in five basic shapes: circles, ovals, heart-shaped, square & octagon. The latter mentioned octagon pieces have a nice 1/2" polished chamfer that runs along the edges of the piece. All shapes, save for the square come in several sizes. The square shape only comes in 12"x12" and 3/8" thick. For sizes and pricing, contact me at the e-mail address on the main page.

"Cherish The Moment, Two"

This is a remake of my ink work, "Cherish The Moment". It was completed on a 8"x11", oval granite. This work I sold for $125.

"Free Willy"

No, this work has nothing to do with the movie of the same title...just a play on words. I did this as an example piece for a client. As you can tell he's a big Willy Nelson fan. Since I did "Willy" for "free"...you get the idea. Portraits usually go for $150-250 for a single individual. Price varies on the size of granite and complexity of the portrait (i.e.: background, details in clothing, etc).

I've completed several portraits over the year. If you wish to commission me do so, however, you need to have an 8x10 of the individual. Anything less and it will cost you extra. I can't tell you how often someone expects me to do a full blown portrait from a wallet size picture. Getting details from such a small image is extremely difficult. Effectively, you end up just guessing at that point.

"Horned Dragon"

This is another commission I completed for $125. Being a real fan of medival fantasy, I had a lot of fun working on this one. The granite was a 9x13.
