Everything Else
"4x4x4"
1961 Buick Special 4 Engined Exhibition Wagon
Ok, you knew that there would be weird stuff here when you pushed that hyperlink to get to this page. And, as your mother used to tell you...."you have no one to blame but yourself."
This duo appeared in the October '92 issue of Plastic Fanatic magazine and the April '93 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiasts magazine. These were built from original AMT Annual 1961 Buick Special Station Wagon kits. Actually, I destroyed 3 of the original kits during the process.
I originally made this as just a cab type body onto the Tommy Ivo Showboat rail with nothing around the engines or up front (2 versions) but it looked too back heavy. So, then I sliced, diced and stretched the 3rd body to my liking. Moving the side portholes to where I needed them was enough to make me consider building "box stock" models.
After I destroyed the first 3 kits, I said "Hey, why not another" and took one more to make a matching Tow Vehicle and Trailer. Man, I need to look for better ways of spending my money huh?
"Slycle"
This motorcycle appeared in the 1996-97 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast "Contest Annual". I didn't make much alterations to this Jimmy Flintstone creation except to lose the front faring and install a single 1929 Ford headlight but somehow it changed the whole appearance. BTW, I suggest only a well experienced modeler attempt building this kit....it's a real bitch!
1927 Track "T" Roadster
This roadster appeared in the July/August 1999 issue #57 of Plastic Fanatic magazine and the June 1999 issue of a magazine from Sweden called "V8 Magazine".
To make things different, I took an AMT Turbine engine from the "Turbosonic" dragster and dropped it into a stretched AMT parts pack chassis, then dropped a resin Track "T" body onto it.
I scratch built many of the parts....brass grill & rollbar, aluminum steering column, dash & pushbar, steel drag link & radius rods, and my buddy John Agugliaro scratch built the torneau cover. Milled wheels are from 60s slot cars parts.
Race Oddities Company Car Hauler
Yano, every race company needs a company vehicle and in this case, an odd company hauler. The car in the bed is an "Astro V" Salt Flats Racer. It used to be a slotcar body that I converted to a model.
1952 Renault 4CV
This car (?) appeared in the December 1996 issue of Street Rodder magazine. Now Ino there's no accounting for taste!!!!
It's powered by a 12 cylinder Allison Aircraft Engine that fills the entire interior. The drivers cockpit hangs out the rear deck....Hey, where else?
"With a Bullet"
1950 Studebaker Wagon
This appeared in the May/June 2000 issue of Model Cars magazine and the September issue of Custom Rodder magazine.
This was built on a challenge by a good buddy of mine Tom Carpini knowing of my love for exotic powerplants. I was more than happy to oblige him.
"Deco Chopper"
This appeared in the August/September 2002 issue of Model Cars magazine. I had to scratch build most of this bike because no company in their right mind would produce something this stupid.
It sports a Supercharged 4 cylinder (an 8 cylinder split in half) Pontiac engine from Mickey Thompson's Attempt 1. The wheel flarings are resin cast front dragster wheel spats from Replicas & Minitures.
"Quick Brick"
1962 Trabant LSR Car
I bought a Revell of Germany Trabant kit on ebay one day. In shipping the roof was totally crushed somehow so the seller told me to keep it for free. Now I had to figure out what to do with it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I cut out the entire top half of the body, scrathbuilt a chassis and interior, rammed an Allison Aircraft engine equipted with Nitrous into it and covered the whole thing over with sheet plastic and the canopy from the Attempt 1.
After seeing how square it looked, I made my own brick faced decals for the name and grill, put it on the show curcuit and denied ever building the car....hey, wouldn't you?
"QuadZilla"
OK....so I like to play around with the Showboat. But a vehile with four engines is right up my alley.
After getting rid of the injector systems, I supercharged all four engines and made new wheels for it. The body was an old AMT chopped "T" that I removed & filled the rear deck, opened up wheelwells and grafted the cowl portion of the Showboat body to.
"The Clopsemobile"
Diehatzu flatbed delivery truck
This nightmare appeared in the "Finishing Touch" section of the April (fools) 2000 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast. I replaced the bed with real cedarwood and brass runners. The beast and cage were totally scratch built.
The inspiration for this was a typographical error online between my brother Tony & I.
We decided that I would create a beast (Rhino's body, elephant legs & feet, giraffe neck & head w/a birds beak and an alligator tail) that was meant for extinction. The door panel says it all. This should be a lesson to all of you....never plan out a model under the influence.
"The Mosquito"
1937 Fiat LSR Car
This LSR car appeared in the August/September issue of Model Cars magazine. It started out as the idea of a buddy of mine John Agugliaro but during the initial construction he lost interest in it so I took over the project and completed it with my own touches.
A top fuel dragster front body portion was widened and altered to be able to graft onto the Fiat body along with 34 Ford rear fenders that were completely covered over.
Then the task of building a frame to fit this thing was started. I took the same top fuel dragster frame, spliced and diced it then grafted the rear section of the Fiat frame to it....sounds easy huh?
Tym to move on....
