Chakras
Chakras represent energies
located in the body. When some people meditate, they 'open' their
chakras... each one has a different color representation and different
meanings. The color that the chakra is written in is it's color
representation.
Root: Located at the base
of the spine, this chakra forms our foundation. It represents the
element Earth, and is related to our survival instincts, our sense of
grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane. This
chakra brings us health, prosperity, and security.
Sacral: The second chakra, located in the abdomen, lower back, and
sexual organs, is related to the element Water, and to emotions and
sexuality. It connects us to others through movement, desire, sensation,
and our feelings. Ideally this chakra brings us fluidity and grace,
sexual fulfillment, and the ability to accept change.
Solar Plexus: This chakra is known as the power chakra, located in the
solar plexus. It rules our personal power and will, as well as our
metabolism. When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness,
and non-dominating power.
Heart: This chakra is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is
related to love and brings together the opposites of the psyche: mind
and body, male and female, persona and shadow. A healthy heart chakra
allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a sense of peace.
Throat: This is the chakra located in the throat and is related to
communication and creativity. Through this we experience the world
around us through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing
language.
Brow: This chakra is also known as the Third Eye. It is related to the
act of seeing, physically, mentally, and spiritually. It opens our
psychic faculties and our understanding of different planes. When
healthy it allows us to see everything clearly, in the physical and the
non-physical.
Crown: This chakra relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our
connection to the world beyond, to a place of all-knowing. When
developed, this chakra brings us understanding, wisdom, knowledge,
spiritual connection, and bliss.
