Working Alone or With a Group?

Witchcraft groups or covens are not cults! They do not tout for members, seduce or compel. Witches are mostly laidback and ethical people. This could have something to do with the fact that they have to live down so much bad press. Despite the fact that witches celebrate sexuality and that many rituals are conducted sky clad (naked), these are far from orgies! The truth is that many of us are in stable relationships and abide by the usual fidelity and loyalty that is valued in our culture.

However, there will always be some groups that will seek the unwary, young and inexperienced, to gratify their own egos and sexual desires. If you are thinking of joining a group you need to be aware that there are groups like this. Anyone who appears to be on an ego trip or over lecherous should be given a wide birth. This is for you own safety, even if you think you can look after yourself, you still need to be cautious. A true teacher will always seek to empower you not overpower you!

I work alone due to the fact that I have found it difficult to find others of like minds. But I have found that working alone gives me the freedom to practice as I wish rather than have to practice as everyone else does. The only downside to this is not having anyone available to help if you need it. If you do need help there are people and organizations on the internet that are willing to help. Just remember we are never truly alone!
